Southern Illinois Veteran Aid and Attendance Attorneys
If you are a veteran – or the surviving widow of a veteran – who receives a VA pension, you may be entitled to additional payments from the VA if you require assistance in the home or reside in a nursing home or similar long-term care facility.
The VA provides additional pension payments to those who qualify for Aid & Attendance (A&A) or Housebound benefits. At SI Elder Law, LLC, we respect the sacrifices veterans have made for our country. We work to honor those sacrifices by helping veterans to receive the maximum payments they deserve from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Veterans and veterans’ widows may also qualify for an additional benefit to help pay the cost of nursing home, assisted living or in-home assistance. For many veterans, the cost of long-term care can be difficult to afford. Our team of attorneys can navigate the complex Veteran Aid & Attendance program and assist you in the application process.

If you are a veteran or a widow of a veteran you may be able to receive additional benefits from the VA if you need assistance with your activities of daily living (bathing, walking, eating, toileting, dressing). The benefit is a special monthly pension called “Aid & Attendance.” This benefit is based on a person’s assets and income. If approved for Aid & Attendance, the person will receive additional monthly income to help pay for the cost of health care. Most of our clients receive the maximum benefit which ranges between $1,000 and $1,900 a month of additional income to help pay for long-term care needs.
